Getting back to building.

Sorry about never updating my blog, but the wife and I have been pretty busy. We moved (3 blocks) so we now have more room. Our extra bedroom has now been begrudgingly dubbed "the Robot Room." This lets me have the collection all in one place.

The old skeletons I built to hold up the robots were sagging pretty badly. 4 years can be pretty tough on cardboard slats with all that weight on them. I decided to come up with a better standard way to hold these up. I invested in PVC pipe and came up with a way that costs about 10 bucks each. They stand at full height now and have "feet" to hold them steady. The below picture is the evolution - Megatron, Optimus, Bumblebee, and then the new PVC design.

Moving also allowed us to get a Kitten we named Logan (Wolverine when he's in Berzerker mode). The first "fortress" I built for him in 4 days. The smaller one took a day to make. It's got a flat back so we can put it up against stuff, or use it as a carrier for him.

And to keep our Gerbils safe (and considering we can leave the cage open because they are so well-trained that they never escape) I built a pet center that holds all the food, toys, kitty stuff, and cardboard for the gerbils. It's too high for the cat to jump up yet, and the edges are curved so he can't get a grip.

Otherwise I've cut the cardboard for Lazerbeak's jetpack and will start assembling that soon, so I will be posting pictures up shortly. Next I have to add the electronics and start gluing pieces together.
